The first major Zaire Ebola outbreak in 1976 in Northwest Congo occurred a mere 100 miles away from where I was. News came about an entire village of 200 people being wiped out completely in a matter of days. CDC, WHO and other international bodies came to figure out what the disease was and how to stop it. Part of the CDC assessment contingent involved Dr. Tom Cairns, a local missionary doctor. I interview Dr. Cairns for this episode, who, interestingly, is the FIRST non-African Ebola virus SURVIVOR.

Well done Jeff. Amazing story of how God protected Dr. Cairns and used him to continue working in Africa.
